Working Together to Protect Public Education

East End Families, you are invited to attend the Secord Elementary School Parent Council and Ontario Families for Public Education meeting on Tuesday, April 2 at 6:30pm in the school’s gymnasium at 101 Barrington Avenue.

MPP Peter Tabuns and MPP Rima Berns-McGown will be joined by TDSB Ward 16 Trustee Michelle Aarts, union representatives and community activists for an evening of organizing to protect public education in our community.

Math Night!

Invitation to Jackman’s Math Night This Thursday!

THEN join us in the library for a presentation from Dr. Brenda Smith-Chant from the Mehrit Institute, who will speak to parents on the topic of Math, Self-Regulation, Anxiety and Well-Being!

3:30 pm to 7:00 pm – Drop-in open house tour to hear about math learning for all students at Jackman

7:00 pm – Come listen to Dr. Brenda Smith-Chant in the school library.

Refreshments will be served, and child care is provided.

Keep Informed About Proposed Cuts and Changes to Public Education

Some examples of proposed changes include, eliminating full day kindergarten, lifting caps on primary classes, hiring freezes, etc. This Friday March 15th, PC Education Minister Lisa Thompson is expected to make a major announcement about cuts to public education.

Staff Appreciation Lunch – May 29th

Reminder : Staff Appreciation Lunch is this Tuesday.  Say thanks to the amazing staff at Frankland by bringing in some food for their lunch.
Hello Frankland Parents!

Every year we say “thank you” to all the staff at Frankland by putting together a Staff Appreciation Lunch! This year we have selected Tuesday, May 29th. We are looking for food donations and volunteers. Here are the details:

Tuesday, May 29th

We are requesting Salads, Main Dishes, and Desserts.

Food needs to be dropped off upstairs in the Staff Room by 10am. Please label your containers and provide us with any heating/serving instructions.

Containers will be washed and ready for pickup at the end of the day.

Volunteers are needed to help set up the lunch, and clean up after lunch.

The Riverdale Share Holiday sing-along is back again this year. Join us at the Second Cup on the Danforth between 11am-12pm to sing some holiday songs.
